The Purge Continues...

First, I'd like to announce the winner of last week's giveaway of A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. Random.org's list generator selected Janel as our winner. Sorry Janel, I don't have your email, so you'll have to contact me: bexadler at yahoo dot com.

For the rest of you, don't despair, there are still more books to win! This week I have three more books to giveaway.

On August 1, I will pick three winners.

The first place winner will receive a signed copy (but it's JUST his signature) of David Sedaris' new book, When You Are Engulfed In Flames.

Second place receives my ARC copy of The Richest Season by Maryann McFadden, which I reviewed here.

Third place gets my copy (paperback) of A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson.

I promise reviews are coming one of these days. I'm in the midst of reading four different books, but for some reason I am completely unable to finish any of them. I have no attention span these days...

OK then, don't forget to leave a comment by August 1!

P.S. Planet Books is also holding a giveaway, so jump on over there for more chances to get free books!

Thank you for this contest. I'm going to add these titles to my list.

I heard that David Sedaris is homophobic, and that writing about being gay is just a passive agressive mockery of alternative lifestyles. In which case, I'm thinking you are aggressively attacking homosexuality by even mentioning him on your blog.
Also, I'm think maybe I shouldn't have started drinking all this nyquil at 8am. But one cannot live their life in regret...I must move forward. Meaning open the second bottle of nyquil with my teeth.
Love, Ange
ps: why did you guys stop inviting me to your book club meetings???

I've never heard of No. 2, so I'm hoping for No. 1 or 3, as I love Sedaris and my kid sister still has my copy of the Bryson book.

No need to enter me... just letting you know I posted this at Win a Book.

And I don't think your motivational problems are yours alone. Seems to be an epidemic lately. Must be the dog days of summer getting to us all!

I finished "All About Lulu" and am now reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns." If we get together we can talk about both books. You can enter my name in the contest if you want. I have a few books that I have yet to read, but what's one more to add to the stack? ;)
